On this page I would like to introduce myself
My name is Manfred Koellner. I am 49 years old, male, born and raised in Westphalia, and still living here.
My interest in history and genealogy was fostered by my father.
It was him, who presented me with my first genealogical table.
Study of history
My fascination for the past made me take up history after training as a social worker.
So I started a history course at the Paderborn University and changed to the Open University Hagen later on. There I qualified with a BA and a grade “A” in history as a main subject, law and pedagogy as subsidiary subjects, likewise.
During my course I paid particular attention to using genuine material and sources only.
So I became familiar with using archives and their resources, learning to read old writings at the same time.
I have been working in the area of family history research very intensively for the last 10 years.
In addition, the history of Westphalia has grown to become my great passion.
Meanwhile I have turned this passion for genealogy and family history research into a profession.
As a professional genealogist I am a member of the “Association of German Speaking Professional Genealogists” and thereby obliged to maintain the highest standard of professionalism laid down by this organisation.
I hope you will give me the opportunity to let me help you with my expertise and knowledge.
